We were asked to create a global visual concept and identity for Our Blueprint— Volvo Cars’ internal roadmap and strategic framework, outlining the company’s building blocks for the future and profiling it as an attractive workplace.
We quickly realised the need to match Volvo Cars brand yet be distinct from external messaging—so that the internal communication would resonate with employees immediately. For such a broad and diverse workforce, we had to create design material that was usable online, in meetings, in print, and even in spaces like changing rooms.
The end result emphasises Volvo Cars’ core brand purpose For life. Freedom to move in a personal, sustainable and safe way, using imagery that subtly portrays life’s beginnings. Throughout the design, the focus is on the basics of life rather than titles, countries, or technology.
